Good Morning and Welcome! to The Fool’s Tarot for 13/09/2017. Today’s deck is again the *Egipcios Kier Tarot* by J. Iglesias Janeiro. If someday a choice is given you, to either trade your red-headed stepchild for a deck of these cards, or keep the kid, make the trade. Grin. I DO love these cards, it is true, so be advised that the deck is actually for advanced esoteric work and one will profit most from this deck if one comes prepared with some knowledge of Egyptian concepts as well as knowledge of the Kabbalah. Onward and Upward! My draw today is: Sulfur = VI the Lovers; Mercury = XIII Immortality, and Salt = #37 Art and Science. Well, hmmm . . . harrumph. I feel rather spiritually inspired this morning, and the cards therefore give me a mysterious reading . . . that figures. Grin. My Active, Intelligent Animus is traveling in VI the Lovers today, a choice which I intellectually understand but to tell the truth I am unaware that there is a material/spiritual choice in front of me. I recently dealt with Choice and thought that it had been chosen and “covered,” but apparently not; I am asked to reaffirm my commitment today to the Spiritual Path, and of course I gladly do so. Unlike our poor man on the card, I do NOT feel as if I’m in a pit of my own devising and must choose between the spiritual & virtuous Sophia on the
Left, or the Whore of the 5th Cataract on the right; it is quite obvious where his gaze is going, but his mind? I know the choice is Sophia; it simply seems I must clarion that choice a bit longer & stronger. “Arcanum VI: INDECISION - in the act of choosing between two roads. It is symbol of the demise of the operant cause that acts in each being codified in the letter Vau. It represents the principle of Verb as efficient cause, knowledge of Good and Evil, Natural Law, vice and virtue as elements of transcendent action. Modeling attribute: Venus in Taurus. In the Spiritual Plane represents the instinctive knowledge of what is proper or improper, the moral law that governs the conscience and gives transcendence to the acts. On the Mental Plane are Abstinence and Gluttony, Liberty and Necessity, Duty and Law as operative forces. In the Physical Plane, it tends to determine behavior, at the marriage or celibacy to abstention from inclinations of appetite or enjoyment without fear of their enjoyments. Transcendent Axiom: "Work you give me, Lord, but with them strength." As an element of prediction, promises privileges and duties in the relations of the sexes, antagonism of forces, separations and divorces, possession of what is pursued and ardent desires that are fulfilled, some that satisfy and others that defraud.” (“La Cabala de Predicción” by J. Iglesias Janeiro, 1984.) Well, my mind is made up; I can only hope the angel changes its aim and doesn’t smite me with infatuation for the Whore from the 5th Cataract
(Grin.) Moving on, we come to my 2nd card today, the Mercury of my alchemical draw, and it is XIII Immortality (or Death if you are wearing either all black or all white today. LOL.) We have ALL heard my semi-long harangue about Death and having no fear of it, in fact looking forward to the Transition. (I DO find it literally incomprehensible that people can believe that Death is The End, and not just a passage, but some people ALWAYS want to slip a turd into the punchbowl. Snark-snark.) Instead, I shall content myself with some of the deck’s creator’s words on the Arcanum; “Arcanum XIII: IMMORTALITY - in the act of renewing life. It is a symbol of the mystery of primordial water coded in the letter Mem. It represents the principle of conception, renewal, rebirth, by which elements are transmuted into others and man is prolonged in his work. Attribute modeler: Gemini, abode of Mercury. On the Spiritual Plane (it) is the renewal of the life by the disintegration of its parts, the liberation of the essence by the transformation of the matter that contains it. In the Mental Plane it represents the action and the reaction, the dissolution that precedes formation, the inductive which gives rise to the deductive, inertia as a function of the movement. In the Physical Plane, it favors processes that favor lethargy, drowsiness, petrification, sleepwalking, what is corrupted, what is destroyed, what perishes to be reborn in a different shape. Axiom transcendent: "The night has passed and the new day has arrived. Light." As an element of prediction, promises disappointments, disappointments, death of affect, negative in what is requested, collapse, pure joy grateful to the soul, improvements of painful enjoyment, help of friends, renewal of conditions, good for worse, ways for better.” (Ibid.) This card fits as if tailor-maid into the mental attributes I think with these days, “Plane it represents the action and the reaction, the dissolution that precedes formation, the inductive which gives rise to the deductive, inertia as a function of the movement.”
And finally, as we prepare to finish our morning promenade, we find the Engine that is running things today, the source of my Power if I choose to work with the given elements to the best purpose of my spiritual progression, eventual Apotheosis and finally reunion with the Divine. Knowing that this IS my goal, I am advised to use the energies inherent in #37. It is difficult to give him any corresponding figure from a suited Tarot, other than to say it is obvious that he falls into Wands, being a scribe/artist, and the card being Art & Science. “Arcanum 37: ART AND SCIENCE - as factors of individual evolution. It symbolizes virtue of one's discipline as an element of progress. Modeling attribute: It is associated with the Sun, the letter I and the number 1. It represents the principle of creation through applied knowledge. Transcendent Axiom: "Land of promise before my eyes, help me walk to get to it." As an element of prediction, promises sincere friendships, magnanimous aids, probity, equity, resources (badly aspected: imperious, compulsions, perversions, popularity, not all edifying.) (Ibid.) So I am being advised, it seems to me, to look within for the creative spark, and using my native artistic talents and what knowledge of occult sciences I possess to create something new of evolutionary importance to my soul. In other words, a bit of spiritual work. Grin. Which is cool, I assure you; I’m not allergic to a spot of work now & then, I just cannot abide it full-time. Grin. I ask the Cosmos today to give us ALL an extra portion of tolerance today to deal with the necessary. Be Well, Be Zen, Be Blessed!!
