Good Morning and Welcome! to The Fool’s Tarot for 31/10/2017; today’s the day! Happy Halloween!! May you all profit from the joy and fun of the holiday and take it all in with good spirit. For those of you who celebrate Samhain, a sacred Samhain to all of you! For me, as a Kemetic, today’s “patrons” would have to be Anubis & Set, the psychopomp and the god of storms & desert wind. Today’s deck is, OF COURSE, the Halloween Tarot* by Kipling West; we’ve all seen it before this month, so no nasty Tricks. Grin.  My draw for today is: Sulfur = XXI the World; Mercury = XI Justice, and Salt = the Page of Bats (Swords.)
It is a good draw for me, and a precognitive one at that. In short, “If you would have the World, you must administer it with true Justice, powered by a sense of dynamism and grace while maintaining your own counsel with grace.” I consider this as directly aimed at me today, not in a paranoid way, but in the way I pray each morning, “Lord, please make clear and comprehensible my divination this morning” is a key phrase in my morning prayer. Thus what I am seeing, or knowing & intuiting, is this kind of “"Memento Cesaris, tu es mortale.” It is a strong reminder that with “accession” comes both power & responsibility, and that one becomes personally responsible not only for one’s life but for the world(s) we create, the realities we manifest. With my Animus in the World, he does feel a bit full of himself today: he is naturally
buoyant today anyway due to the holiday. “XXI the World - An unexpected vision appeared to me. A circle not unlike a wreath woven from rainbow and lightnings, whirled from heaven to earth with a stupendous, velocity, blinding me by its brilliance. And amidst this light and fire I heard music and soft singing, thunderclaps and the roar of a tempest, the rumble of falling mountains and earthquakes. The circle whirled with a terrifying noise, touching the sun and the earth, and, in the center of it I saw the naked, dancing figure of a beautiful young woman, enveloped by a light, transparent scarf, in her hand she held a magic wand. Presently the four apocalyptic beasts began to appear on the edges of the circle; one with the face of a lion, another with the face of a man, the third, of an eagle and the fourth, of a bull. The vision disappeared as suddenly as it appeared. A weird silence fell on me. "What does it mean?" I asked in wonder. "It is the image of the world," the voice said, "but it can be understood only after the Temple has been entered. This is a vision of the world in the circle of Time, amidst the four principles. But thou seest differently because thou seest the world outside thyself. Learn to see it in thyself and thou wilt understand the infinite essence, hidden in all illusory forms. Understand that the world which thou knowest is only one of the aspects of the infinite world, and things and phenomena are merely hieroglyphics of deeper ideas." (“The Symbolism of the Tarot” by P. D. Ouspensky.) Next we see that I have received XI Justice for my Mercury, today’s saddle for my Anima. We like Justice, we do, but we continually err on the side of compassion and mercy; I’m usually willing to give “one more chance” to a person who doesn’t merit one according to his behavior. I feel I’m rather a lot like that grinning pumpkin on the card; rather foolishly holding the reins of Justice. It is difficult for me to be otherwise; I have fucked-up so many times, and have received an abundance of both human and divine help along the way. The mere fact that I am here and basically okay proves Universal Mercy & Compassion in action; by all rights (truly,) I should have been dead quite a while ago with my ashes now lingering at the bottom of the Seine, or dealt with harshly by a government somewhere on the globe. I was an adventurous lad . . . LOL.
Justice herself has been VERY kind to me, thus it is impossible for me not to do the same when I am called upon to “judge.” “XI Justice – “When I possessed the keys, read the book and understood the symbols, I was permitted to lift the curtain of the Temple and enter its inner sanctum. And there I beheld a Woman with a crown of gold and a purple mantle. She held a sword in one hand and scales in the other. I trembled with awe at her appearance, which was deep and mysterious, and drew me like an abyss. "You see Truth," said the voice. "On these scales everything is weighed. This sword is always raised to guard justice, and nothing can escape it. "But why do you avert your eyes from the scales and the sword? They will remove the last illusions. How could you live on earth without these illusions? "You wished to see Truth and now you behold it! But remember what happens to the mortal who beholds a Goddess!" (Ibid) There is also a huge issue of Karma involved with this card; I seem to have been burning off a lot of Karma this time around – Grin. However, I hope I have generated a great deal of good Karma, as well, on this round of the Wheel.  Putting Justice in the hands of my Anima is ideal, as my Animus tends to get very Mars-like & pompous when called upon for this sort of thing. Grin. Finally we come to my engine for today; the generator that is running the show today, the
Page of Bats (Swords.) I like this kid; he’s resourceful, intuitive, and usually Mercurial enough to be trusted as a messenger. He is a graceful young man (or she/woman,) who charms instantly & completely, but he does have a flair for secrets and espionnage. I’ve known young people like this in life, and they make wonderful if somewhat secretive friends. “The Page of Bats (Swords) – “The Martian and Saturnian element on the Third house and on the Eleventh. It is very remarkable, that the first series of meanings in this case hint at the third house, while the so-called reversed meanings bear all the characteristics of the Uranian eleventh house: suddenness, surprise, etc. This element on the house of Air, Gemini and Aquarius, must, of course, denote either intellectual facts or concrete results of intelligence. The latter may be called 'proof' or 'outcome' or exact knowledge. The knowledge of facts may be the fruit of an elementary school curriculum, of journalism, of spying, etc. But it is justly indicated by tradition, that the Martian and Saturnian Gemini-man is a specialist in unlawful knowledge or in knowledge gathered at the cost of much trouble and effort; so it may be also knowledge gathered later in life, university extension. Exact intellectual results may appear as: remarks, observations, notes, etc. When put in the negative there may be investigation, examination, etc. All these are truly the effects of Gemini. There are, moreover, the personalities representing the facts. On account of the eleventh house we shall have to note the same sort of results but more or less reciprocal and sudden, whereas Uranus, lord of this house, accelerates the energy of Mars in this element but is apt to destroy the Saturnian vibrations or at least counteract them. It is quite true, therefore, that this card may represent speaking and acting without sufficient preparation and without dogmatic or very formal outlines: improvisation.” (“The General Book of the Tarot” by A. E. Thierens.) The French seem to be especially prone to this type of behavioral style, because it fits in with the art of diplomacy so nicely. Diplomacy = how to lie in a polite and subtle language which leaves all meanings absolutely fluid. Grin. I like the reading today; it isn’t a “Wowser!” but it is slyly adventurous with a sharp rap on the knuckles to be on my best behavior. Grin; okay, got it. I ask the Cosmos to grant us ALL a whiff of Mystery and Skullduggery on this wonderful holiday. Be Well! Be Zen. Be Blessed!!
