Good Morning and Welcome! to The Fool’s Tarot for 19/01/2018; the deck today is the *Oswald Wirth Tarot*, eponymously named. I like this deck quite a bit, but it gets a lot of flak ‘out there’ as being insipid or too much of a compromise between modes & styles. Bullshit; it is fine, it reads well, and it is enjoyable to regard. So screw the critics. On a different note, I wish to send out a High Five to our friend in the U.S., Liuben C., who follows the blog and is a personal friend – “Hi, buddy!” If any of you stateside happen to know Liuben, he’s a star player, and Montpellier loves him. Grin. In other news, my week at lung rehab is over and I have 4 days off before week 2 begins. Boy, was I exhausted yesterday, but I’ll rest up and start again with a spirit of endurance; that is the best I can muster in my après-fatigue. Grin. Onward & Upward! My draw for today is as follows: A) Guiding Arcanum = XX Judgement; B) Animus = King of Wands; C) Anima = 8 of Cups, and my oracular card today is from *The Burning Serpent Oracle* by Robert M. Place & Rachel Pollack, and it is #19 The Tower (remember, this is an oracle, not Tarot.) (The only true images today are the Oracular card and XX Judgement; the others have had to be substituted.) In general, I like the hand, although there is nothing about it that knocks the socks off of my tentacles. Everybody seems to be in a reasonably good place today: That’s good, because frankly I am too in need of downtime and R&R to do much of anything that would require physical activity . . . ha. Good thing, as today my Guiding Arcanum is
XX Judgement, a time to reflect, recall, resurrect and summarize all parts of me, judge the degree of successful amalgamation and realize the “Construct” in its entirety, in order to proceed to XXI the World. My Animus, very appropriately, is in his avatar as King of Wands, ready to leap off the grid entirely, enter the Waters of the Unknown, the Ocean of Chaos, and reemerge again, for yet another cycle, in Pentacles. He’s a brave soul; at this point, I’m simply wanting off the Wheel, assuming that the desire to reenter (either if necessary or as a bodhisattva [choice]) will be nascent on its own. My Anima in the 8 of Cups is not exactly the dejected loner that this card represents in RWS symbology: “Degree 8 of the Tarot is equivalent to the maturity stage of a fruit. It graces the tree in full ripeness and perfection of growth. There is no longer any improvement possible, nothing to be added or taken away . . . each of the four suits presents us with a different aspect of receptive perfection: magical concentration in the case of Wands, a heart full of love in the case of Cups, empty mind in the case of Swords, and material abundance in the case of Coins . . . 8 of Cups: Being selfless and humble, considering the welfare of others, showing empathy and compassion, feeling gratitude and unconditional love.” (http://www.destinyclemens.com) So, I feel as if this is more of a “Settle in and have a good, long think, Mark; where are you, can you summarize? Are you close to being able to synthesize your entire being and become the one, real Mark that “exists?” Tune in tomorrow when Mr. Peabody and Sherman will return from the future in the WABAC machine and tell us all the happy ending . . . Grin. I ask the Cosmos today to grant us ALL those qualities of bodhisattva-hood today which we are individually able to manifest. Be Well! Be Zen. Be Blessed!!
XX Le Judgement – “The Judgement card, sometimes called "Resurrection," represents the great reunion that the ancients believed would happen once in every age. This was the time when souls are harvested and taken home to their place of origin, outside the solar system. Then the world is seeded with a batch of new souls and the process starts over. . . In personal terms, the Judgment Tarot card points to freedom from inner conflicts, and so clear a channel, that the buried talents and gifts of past incarnations can come through an individual in this lifetime. This card counsels you to trust the process of opening yourself, because what emerges is of consistently high quality. You can effortlessly manifest as a multi-dimensional being, and assist in evoking that response from others. Let go of your past. The future welcomes you with a bounty of growth and change. The Judgment card advises that you allow yourself to grow, transform, and release hidden potentials within yourself. Divest yourself of fruitless endeavors without neglecting your duties. At the same time, invest your energies in new growth. It's not necessary to reject others, but refuse to be manipulated by those who cry foul. This process isn't about them anyway. It is about you and the desire you feel to change your life and become a more complete person. Trust your impulses and allow this remarkable awakening to happen.” (www.tarot.com)
King of Wands – “Traditionally representing the energy of a dynamic King, this card represents the classic conquering hero. He's a charismatic leader, entrepreneurial and ambitious, always creating new adventures. He does this because he doesn't like to stay home or to have to "mind the store" -- he gets to feeling restless and bored with the predictable. If you need a crusader, or someone to take on a big challenge, he's your man. He needs a big assignment, and would rather lead than follow. . . The King of Wands in this position reminds us that our lives are designed to bring us eventually to a place of self-ownership. An opportunity for self-empowerment is presenting itself to you now. Recognize that through your attitude and the way you express yourself to others, you hold the power over your own experiences in life. You are the determining factor in this situation and circumstances will proceed in the direction that you steer them. Indecision or doubt are not appropriate responses when clarity and confidence are critical. As you take on a bigger role, it will begin to feel more comfortable. Seize the opportunity to influence events, because everything is waiting for you.” (Ibid) 8 of Cups – See Above. Burning Serpent Oracle #19 The Tower – “Authority, officials, corporations. Territorial marker. Isolation, coldness. Caution. Long life.” (LWB)
