Good Morning and Welcome! to The Fool’s Tarot for 04/01/2018; the deck today is the *Tabula Mundi: Colores Arcus* by M. M. Meleen, & there is an accompanying book (separate,) “Book M: Liber Mundi” (idem; Atu House, Barre, 2015.) A rather tardy but superlative reunion was had last evening of our “selected family;” it was most delightful, and the absence of the two or three “family members” was noted and best wishes sent. The energy from a roomful of people all under the age of 35 is astonishing; I bathe in it, much like Countess Bathory and her bath of virgins’ blood. Grin. We , in turn, are not ‘in loco parentis,’ but we are a pair of “psychic stand-ins,” if you will, with the element of all self-editing in terms of what you would discuss in front of your parents turned absolutely OFF. We love our “kids,” (as opposed to our “children,” our 3 cats. LOL.) My wife and I married late in life (Thank Isis!!) so there was never any question of offspring, except by choice of inter-species adoption. Fancy words for adopting a cat, ha. The point of this aside is that I felt empowered with an ‘extra’ charge of energy, self-produced in the wake of the delightful company, and I see it coming through in the cards today. My draw for today is: A) Guiding Arcanum = V the Hierophant; B) Animus = Queen of Wands; C) Anima = Queen of Swords, and my oracular card today is ‘Sandalphon, Angel of New Life’ from Angelarium©. I must say, however, that I am a bit surprised to see my
Guiding Arcanum today is again V the Hierophant; he isn’t my favorite card in the MA (too much ego resemblance?? Grin.) Nevertheless, he IS acceptable (harrumph.) As for Me today, both my Animus and my Anima are riding high as Queens of Wands and Swords, respectively. (No jokes from the Peanut Gallery, please; of COURSE a bisexual/gay man is easily stereotyped. Grin.) Somewhere in this decaying chateau in the Cathar countryside I call a body, there may be the birth of a new star amid all those clouds of gas and pressure. GRIN. Hope springs eternal, as we all know; for “hierophantic” reasons today I am capable of summoning their almost twin energies to carry forward whatever today’s “papal” manifestation may be. LOL. I’m not feeling very papal today, I must say, but I’m not going to worry about it. A little known clause of the inflexible early laws of the Catholic Church is that, contrary to all other ranks of priesthood, “if the Holy Spirit so moves the Congregation of Cardinals,” any ordinary, baptized man may be elected Pope. So perhaps in a bizarre turn-around, the current pope may pass away and unbeknownst to me, I am considered and then elected Pope, at which point I am notified and my wife enters Holy Orders. LOL, just what she wouldn’t like. Frankly, being Pope wouldn’t please me, either – WAY too much hypocrisy concerning 2,000 years of lies and manipulations, the thirst for power and of course the undying hunger for gold, gold, more gold! (And/or money, nowadays.) I left most of that behind at 35, and then permanently changed ALL of my parameters by the age of 50. So, “No thank you, but thank you for considering me for the post. It’s a shame you couldn’t match my other offer.” GRIN. As for both my Animus and my Anima being Queens today (“if you giggle, I’ll slap the make-up off your mug, gurl!” Grin,) what the Hell, the more the merrier. We all know you can’t have two women in a kitchen; well, you can’t have two Queens in a throne room, either. (From here, I shall wisely retreat before the monologue turns weird. Grin.) Suffice to say that underneath the bling, and there is a LOT of it, we are sisters at heart, and while the rivalry may be genuine, so is the love & affection. I’m not at all sure what this day may bring, but as usual, I address the Cosmos in a friendly tone, saying, “Bring It On!” Grin. I ask the Cosmos today to grant us ALL unexpected reserves of energy in unexpected situations. Be Well! Be Zen. Be Blessed!!
V The Hierophant – “Path of Vau 16 in the Tree of Life. [The] Sun in Sagittarius as a symbol for the teacher of inner values, Jupiter in Pisces as the vision of eternity. Zodiac: Taurus. Tree of Life: From Chokmah to Chesed. Element: Earth. Number: 5 as quintessence, the power that exceeds the four elements. The Hierophant is a symbol for a world of belief and confession, may it be a church, a sect or an occult society. He's the pope, the druid or the High Priest in a system of creeds and dogmas. He represents the religious and intellectual tradition of a person, and may be the one the person is born to it or possibly the one who has chosen it by himself. In the positive aspect, the Hierophant represents the search for knowledge and illumination, the desire to study creed and dogma instead of simply accepting them, to research and achieve further development. It also stands for the deep fulfillment someone can find when really trusting their own beliefs. In a negative view, the Hierophant can stand for bigotry, the blind faith in dogma, intolerance towards everything different from the own confession. It can also mean gullibility, running to any kind of new belief just because the traditional one is suddenly considered boring or unsatisfying. Drive: Search for hidden truths, trust in inner instincts. Light: Wisdom and knowledge as an experience independent from dogmatism and science. Shadow: Intolerance, esoteric nonsense." Queen of Wands - "(Queen of the Thrones of Flame) Binah in the Tree of Life. Astrology: 21° Pisces to 20° Aries. Element and world: The waters in the Fire of Atziluth. Personifying the waters in the element of Fire, the Queen of Wands has a similar basic as the Knight of Cups, combining opposing elements when neither of the contrasts can overcome the other, thus having an unstable balance between them. As a queen, she is the mother of her element, the emotion and the sensitivity, thus having her attributes of love, understanding and sympathy, her abilities to form and create, spending trust and warmth. The fiery character provides pride, passion, inspiration and powerful independence, her charisma, strength and expansiveness. Due to the imbalance in her character, the Queen of Wands can easily shift to her dark side, becoming a hot-tempered, revengeful fury, over-dominant and possessive, taking the tiniest bit as a reason to bear a grudge for years. She never forgets and never forgives, and as easily her fiery temper makes her forget own mistakes, so deeply her watery depths can cause her to ponder long and broad about the mistakes of others. Missing the stability of earth and the logic of air, tolerance and self-control never were her best disciplines. Drive: Motion and transformation. Light: Independence, honor, spiritual visions, passion, adaptability. Shadow: Intolerance, despotism, jealousy, reckless passion." (Ibid)
Queen of Swords – “(Queen of the Thrones of Air) Binah in the Tree of Life. Astrology: 21° Virgo to 20° Libra. Element and world: The waters in the Airs of Yetzirah. The Queen of Swords represents the Water in the Air, thus supplying the qualities of emotion and sensitivity to the airy element, the ability to transfer and reflect, to form and create. As the mother of the Air, she will have a strong dominance of intellect. The Queen of Swords can be very sensitive, perceptive, sharp-witted and intelligent. On the dark side, she can turn cruel, malicious, narrow-minded, bigoted or even deceitful, dangerous, too, because of her charm and beauty. Being water in air, the Queen of Swords lacks the stability of the Earth as well as the will of Fire. So she can lack practicality, steadiness, running the risk to live in an idealistic land of her own outside of reality. Further, she is sensible to interferences and disturbance from the outside, unable to protect herself against it.” (Ibid) Drive: Independence, freedom of mind and soul. Light: Wisdom, imagination, self-confidence, perceptive, graceful. Shadow: Coldness, inaccessibility, cruel, deceitful.” (Ibid) Sandalphon, Angel of New Life – “. . . Sandalphon’s footsteps brings with it great fear but also awe and hope. With each step, we move closer to the conclusion and a new beginning. Embrace this new epoch; what has come has already passed. What will be is still a dream. Sandalphon flows through it all. . . .” (*Angelarium©* by P. Mohrbacher & E. Minaya.)
