Good Morning and Welcome! to The Fool’s Tarot for 21/01/2018; the deck for today is the *Mutational Alchemy Tarot* by m1thr0s and Izi Ningishzidda of the Abrahadabra Institute. I LOVE the art in this deck; I must admit to grave reservations, however, about their system, as it involves making IV the Star and XVII the Emperor, and up to now I STILL haven’t been able to discern Why they do it. It is full of astrology and Kabbalistic twistings and turnings, but boiled down, I still have to say, “Why? There is no reason.” Be that as it may, I read the deck as ‘given;’ if I pull XVII the Emperor, I read it as the Emperor, not mentally substituting the Star. I didn’t read with it for a long time, unable to reconcile the fundamental change. Now, I just “Step on the Gas, Brother!” Grin. Onward and Upward! Today’s draw is as follows: A) Guiding Arcanum = IX the Hermit; B) Animus = 4 of Staves; C) Anima = King of Alembics; D) my oracular card today is from the *Egyptian Lenormand* by Nefer Khepri, and is #27 (the) Letter (some form of communication. There is an image substitution today.) Again, I’m
not feeling chatty, as is evidenced by IX the Hermit . . . Grin. I’m going to add the card explanations from the accompanying book to this deck, “The Mutational Alchemy Tarot Book” which is available ONLY online at I ask the Cosmos to grant us ALL a calm and peaceful day accompanied by good news from afar. Be Well! Be Zen. Be Blessed!!                                                              IX The Hermit – “. . . The Hermit shares a *secret alliance* with The Empress. They carry the very same hexagrams in different elemental positions. This is called a reciprocal inverse. Dragons are, of course, very promiscuous, so this is unsurprising, but it does not diminish her relationship to the Emperor. It is safe to say the Emperor and the Hermit are different facets of the same personage. ATU IX is the number of the Lo Shu and so it can be said, The Lo Shu is The Hermit, (And thus the Tetractys as his number is 10,) therefore, The Hermits’ power is what brought about all Life in the Universe.  The union of the Lo Shu’s 9 and the Tetractys 10 is of utmost importance and perhaps this can be said of The Hermit: he is entirely oppressed, and misunderstood, in this world. But this will be corrected. It has to be, if anything is to go right on Earth. The Hermit himself oversees the endeavor of guarding the egg, carrying with him the lamp, representing eternal Fire,
the sheathe of Spirit, and the staff, representing masculine fertility, both very important aspects of the Hermit’s symbology. Behind him stands the forest primeval, representing the unknown, verdant growth, and the ancient and hoary female virgin-whore universe, or, The Empress! In a reading, the egg may be regarded as carrying the universe, or, a human being, (such as the questioner,) really anything biological undergoing transformation. It is most explicitly fractal in nature. The specific girl in the egg, as a divine archetype, could be said to represent Virgo or Persephone, guarded by Hades-Mercury in the forest primeval where hundreds more dwell in their youth, guarded with light against the dark intricacies of complex variables that would lead to their doom. This also represents the goddess in her child aspect that leads to renewal and new growth. . . .” (see above.)                                         4 of Staves – “The image in the Hexagram doesn’t seem to match the scene of the card at first glance. #33 is a Hexagram that talks about retreating from the enemy and doing “small things” as a way to continue persevering. The power of the darkness is ascending and is connected to the 6th moon of
the year, when Midsummer has passed. A situation like this can be found in the story of Man. The species must leave the planet, but will he do so at the last minute, in a dangerous circumstance? The attitude that brings about this dire situation is that of the technophobe and the Luddite. The other option includes embracing our interstellar nature, ascending to the heavens, and becoming the guardians of Earth, from afar, rather than sitting in it, fouling the nest. So the image on Completion is of an aeon beyond the time when Hrumachis reigns (Lady Ma’at) and mankind sits in the heavens. An airship has been completed and the people gather to celebrate the small victory.” (Ibid)                                            King of Alembics – “Moving from Kether to Geburah, the King of Alembics is really a lot more aggressive than his previous witnesses have presumed, and tried to pass off on us. We chose sharks. Things have really become completely degraded over time.  His elemental nature is Fire of Water, illuminating his true nature as The Lord of Life. In any situation, his powers will be used to guard life, everywhere. The tetragram and geomantic character reveal the image of water, being dumped out – Fortuna Minor looks like an upset chalice, and the tetragram Heaven over Earth is also dangerous and sinister. This is a wealthy and generous King, overflowing with riches, especially in knowledge and wisdom. He is very serious when it comes to attending to his economic duties, and the needs of the land and the environment.      Neptune and Mercury together are lightning quick and quite abstract. The shark makes for a suitable symbol of this kind of intellect.” (Ibid)  #27 (The) Letter – The arrival of communication of some form; important news.
